Iodine - an amazing story
Iodine, despite fears to contary, is not dangerous - it's absolutely essential to every function in our
bodies (not just thyroid) AND it detoxes heavy metals, flouride and much more.
"Japanese women have one of the lowest incidences of breast cancer in the world.
They also have the highest intake of Iodine." So says American surgeon Donald J. Miller in his 2006
presentation 'Iodine in health and civil defence'. The full text of his talk is available at
www.donaldmiller.com
According to Caduceus magazine the chronic lack of Iodine in the western diet is largely responsible foe an
epidemic of thyroid-linked illness...
Do not use if allergic to iodine! (* e.g. dab a little on your skin, or drink a tiny bit to test
*)
Yet, it's almost impossible to get enough Iodine in our normal diet these days, except in seaweed.
It is said that the reason why Japanese ladies rarely get breast cancer, for instance, is because of all the
iodine in the seaweed they eat over there.
It used to be the first medicine of choice, it's virtually free and it really works well - even to cure a
cold!
Leela's life-long severe circulation problem with fingers and toes going white and numb at even a hint of
cold was miraculously cured within a few days of just rubbing Iodine on her wrists - she's toasty warm for the
first time in her life - amazing.

What form of Iodine form?
OK, we're NOT talking about Tincture of Iodine, which is what we used to put on cuts and which hospitals
still wipe on your skin before an operation (because it's the BEST antiseptic around!) - that's Iodine in
alcohol (and really stings on broken skin!). You'll see there are various forms: pure Iodine (I2), potasium
iodide, SSKI (super-saturated potasium iodide), Nacesent Iodine (single Iodine atoms, supposed to be the best
form), Idoral pills (like Lugol's, though more expensive)...
But to keep it simple you just need any pure Lugol's solution (water with Iodine and Potasium Iodide).
Lugol's is not a brand, but just the formulation of thsoe two types together. Get one specifically pure for
internal use. There are some very cheap sources of Lugol's but you want one that's very pure, not 'industrial'
(like the one I buy below)
Dosage? Do your own research! We take a few (3-10) drops in water twice a day (doesn't taste too bad), or
just rub it into your skin (eg wrists - that's how we started). It will be very brown for a few hours. The more
deficient in Iodine you are, the quicker the brown/yellow stain goes, eventually, it may hang around for 12-24
hours when your ioine levels are up. Lugol's in Europe may well be a much lower strenght than the original
Lugol's formula - more research to be done...
How often? - some say every day for the rest of your life (it's that essential, like water is!)
Where to buy (important!)
My research found the best liquid iodine is Lugol's (combination of both iodine and iodide
for different functions) (there's also Magnascent Iodine which is supposed to be the 'best' but we use Lugol's
and it's great)
I found it in at Health Leads in UK for a snip £9.90 for 30ml or
£20.95 for 100ml (lasts for months!) (they deliver outside UK too) (and do many other
good products.)
Health Leads are very relaible (and nice people,) offer great service and ensure your
Lugol's iodine is the right strength (12%) and PURE (be aware that many Lugol's mixes are 'industrial
grade' and not pure for human consumption, and also that many are much lower sterength, even down to just
2%).
Here are some links from their Lugol's Page (please mention me when ordering, see
